Vietnam now has 34 provinces: finding boards under the new map

Under National Assembly Resolution 202/2025/QH15, from 2025 the country has 34 province-level units: 6 cities and 28 provinces. 11 provinces and cities stayed as they were; 23 new units were formed by mergers.

The changes buyers meet most often

• Hồ Chí Minh City takes in the former Hồ Chí Minh City, Bình Dương and Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu.
• Đà Nẵng takes in the former Đà Nẵng and Quảng Nam.
• Hải Phòng takes in the former Hải Phòng and Hải Dương.
• Cần Thơ takes in the former Cần Thơ, Sóc Trăng and Hậu Giang.
• Đồng Nai takes in Đồng Nai and Bình Phước; Tây Ninh takes in Tây Ninh and Long An.
• Khánh Hòa takes in Khánh Hòa and Ninh Thuận; Lâm Đồng takes in Lâm Đồng, Đắk Nông and Bình Thuận.
• Gia Lai takes in Gia Lai and Bình Định; Đắk Lắk takes in Đắk Lắk and Phú Yên.
• Bắc Ninh takes in Bắc Ninh and Bắc Giang; Ninh Bình takes in Ninh Bình, Hà Nam and Nam Định.
• Thừa Thiên Huế is now Huế City.

When you plan

• Districts are gone and communes and wards have been reorganised; a board's address may be written the old way or the new. For the contract, check the address on the board's construction permit.
• Each province issues its own outdoor advertising plan; after the mergers, provinces are updating theirs. Before you settle on a location, ask the owner about documents in force — WikiOOH asks for you when it prepares a quote.
